New Minister of Power asks Nigerians to prayer for him to succeed
Newly appointment minister of power Saleh Mamman tells Nigerians to prayer for him to succeed in his position.
The newly-appointed Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, has asked Nigerians to help him pray for success in his new role.
Mamman was announced the new Power Minister when President Buhari inaugurated his second term cabinet in Abuja on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
During his speech at a reception organised in his honour by a committee of friends, the minister begged Nigerians to pray for him.
“What I need from Nigerians at this time is prayers. I have just been appointed Minister of Power, so I have nothing much to talk about or say than for Nigerians to pray for me to succeed,” he said.
Mamman’s assignment came remains a surprise to many with the ministry previously held by the stewardship of former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola, who was also reappointed. And sworn in for another role in Buhari’s cabinet on Wednesday.
Ex-Lagos state Governor Fashola was the Minister of Power, Works and Housing during Buhari’s first term as president. But, will only hold the stint of Minister of Works and Housing.
To everyone importance. The Power Ministry bears lots of political relevance as the country has failed for decades to sufficiently supply electricity. To its population of over 200 million people.
Although the Buhari-led admin has said improving power supply was a key to improving economic growth,. In the power industry hasn’t made any improvements and many regions in the country still in black out.
In his remarks on Wednesday, Buhari urged the new ministers to not rest. And work for Nigerians to get a future where they can enjoy maximum gains
