These people convinced me to join Arsenal over Liverpool – Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal’s new signing, Nicolas Pepe, has explained his family and agents convinced him to chose a transfer to the Premier League.
Pepe, on Thursday, completed a club-record £72m transfer from Lille to the Emirates.
The Ivory Coast winger was heavily linked to other clubs including Liverpool and Napoli.
He will be forming a fearsome attacking trio with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Having put pen to paper on a long-term deal at the Emirates.
Pepe, 24, faced a hard decision considering his future after returning from the African Cup of Nations. With Liverpool also amongst those sid to have had a bid accepted by Lille.
“It was my family and my agents.
“We talked and thought a lot about it.
“It was at the time of the CAN [Africa Cup of Nations] as well, we thought a lot during, before and after the CAN.
“It was important to make the right decision and I am convinced that Arsenal is the right choice,” Pepe told Arsenal’s official website
