Swedish football legend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s statue outside his boyhood club Malmo has had the nose removed by angry vandals after he bought a stake in rival club, Hammarby.
This is the lastest damage inflicted to the monument after it was announced that the Swedish striker had bought a 25 percent stake in rival club Hammarby on November 27.
Before the latest damage was done, angry supporters had previously sprayed 3.5 metre high bronze statue with paint, set it on fire and put a toilet seat over its arm. Ibrahimovic’s house in Stockholm was also vandalised, with ‘Judas’ painted on the front door following his involvement with Hammarby.
Ibrahimovic, now 38, who was born in Malmo made his professional debut for the club in 1999. He also went on to play for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris St-Germain, LA Galaxy and Manchester United
